ELECTROFUNK

Electrofunk injects the later hours with a tight and driving, technotic blend of the analog and digital for dancefloors big and small. Filtered vocals swirl like paint while thumping kicks maintain a core of energy and drama that holds the floor. Unprocessed chunks of guitar slice through the synthetic sounds to bring the crowd along to the next breakdown. That's the beauty of an electrofunk show: it's much more than another recycled DJ set, and it's never the same.
Electrofunk is producer Jamie Shoemarks's top project, and represents the past six years of devotion to music production in his hometown of Newcastle, Australia. While Jamie's dabbled in house and breaks, electrofunk is at the centre of a bumping local techno scene and between production stints, Jamie and friends would team up to throw the Hunter Valley's biggest parties. Electrofunk has played alongside local heroes of the techno and breaks scene such as Nu Breed, Sonic Animation, Pound System, Infusion, Bexta, Mark Dynamix, Kid Kenobi, Nik Fish, Pee Wee and John Ferris, Amber Savage and international act Organ Donors.
It was at these parties that the Electrofunk sound was worked and re-worked to become the crunchy, slamming show that Jamie took on tour across Europe. According to Jamie, Big 1 at Barcelona was his favorite night, and the incredible audience response only affirmed his belief that he's on the right track. "I try and create the entire show from scratch each time I perform," says Jamie. "It gives me as much freedom as I need to respond to the dancefloor. Everything's re-created live using RS7000 to RS7000, unique dj cutting and vocals.
Currently signed to Sonic Vogue Records, Electrofunk is in the process of recording his upcoming album to be released this December 2010.
